FAQ

Before contacting us, please check this list of frequently asked questions. You might find the information you're looking for here.

What positions are 076 Studio currently looking to fill?

At the moment, we are not looking for any candidates. When we get anything available, we will be looking for designers, programmers, artists, sound designers, and others who are able to be actively part of game development, as well as manga artists and song artists for promotional materials.

Are you looking for any management roles?

No, we have a flat hierachy where everyone is expected to be actively involved in development. We are therefore not interested in hiring managers.

Do you hire new college graduates?

No, we are only interested in experienced developers at the moment. We might open up to graduates in the future however.

Do you offer internships?

At the moment, we do not offer internships.

Are you open to remote work?

Currently we all work remote. This is subject to change in the future.

I am a foreign citizen, can I apply?

We do not care about your ethnicity, nationality, gender, or other factors. We only rate you on technical merit. So as long as you have a valid Japanese engineer visa, permanent residency, spouse visa, or any other visa permitting work in the IT sector, you are welcome to apply.

Can I apply if I don't speak Japanese?

We are a Japanese company. While English proficiency certainly helps, we do expect at least N3 level Japanese or higher + the willingness to master it.

I'm in my 30s, 40s, or 50s, can I still apply?

We do not care about how old you are. All we care about is whether you're able to do the job you apply for.

Are there any candidates you instantly reject?

Yes, we value game developers who are gamers, so just being a game developer is not enough, and candidates should be gamers as well.

  • Non-gamers
  • Haters of Japanese media
  • Pro-censorship individuals
  • Individuals with preferred pronouns
  • Individuals who glorify violence and/or murder
  • Individuals who cannot tolerate those they disagree with (aka, calling them a "nazi" or "fascist" or "jew" even if they aren't)

MESSAGE FROM THE COMPANY DICTATORPRESIDENT

Together with my colleagues, I strive to create Japan's best game company enjoyed my many across the galaxy (assuming we will colonialize Mars soon).
While doing so, I also want to redefine what it means to be a game company.
Instead of being either politically correct or entirely ignoring fans, we strive to engage with fans as if they were part of our friends circles.
We are here to kick ass!

Born in the 1990's, I grew up surrounded by high quality entertainment, such as games, manga, and anime.
I'm grateful for the environment that I was given, and therefore love them from the bottom of my heart.
The games I played during childhood has greatly inspired the games I want to make, hoping it will attract gamers both nostalgic and more recent.

I have also been heavily influenced by my technical choices I made throughout my career, and grew dissatisfied by the sheer amount of bloat in software in general.
Developers are entering the tech industry not knowing how to make good software, and as we as a civilization increasingly rely on software, we're at risk at a global scale civilizational collapse if nobody understands what we're doing anymore.

I firmly believe that games are all about fun, and the way business is done should reflect that.
Instead of tiring developers out to meet deadlines, we provide a relaxing environment, which in turn makes developers more productive.
Instead of relying on tools to ship games as quickly as possible, we take the time to make the very best games.
With our tightly knit team of professionals, we will ensure the best fun while preserving technical know-how.

By creating fun games with stunning visuals at 60 FPS or beyond, we can prove that this can be done, and it's not as hard as people think too.
